FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
 

1. WHAT IS CHIP TUNING?
Most of modern cars with electronic injection are using small computer, powered steering gear. This power steering gear is controlling volume of injected fuel and time of ignition. Chip tuning is optimization of program that is needed by engine computer. We increase the volume of inject and turbo filling pressure. The acceleration of your car is much better, but maximum speed does not substantially change, because we are still protecting engine by not modifying enabling device r.p.m..

2. IS IT NECESSARY TO MAKE SOME MECHANICS CHANGES IN THE ENGINE?
NO, we just make changes in car electronic system (changing or reprogramming eprom). In most vehicles from the year of manufacture 2000 and more, we make transformation trough diagnostic plug (OBD programming) in to “car computer”- ECU. That is how it is possible that the procedure does not take time of work no longer than an hour.



3. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE CHIP TUNING?
If there is necessary to make procedure in physical way in electronic car computer (opening or soldering) it is approximately 1 hour to wait, when we make procedure by OBD programming you will wait less than an hour(app. 30-45 min.).

4. MANUFACTORY WARRANTY, OUR WARRANTY
On every transformation we give 24 month guaranty, which is limited on the electronic transformation. Any car breakdown (turbo machine, engine, and gearbox) is not included in this guaranty.

Manufactory guaranty is terminated if there is committed any un-authorised procedure on vehicle (ex. Chancing tiers on un-authorised services can terminate your guaranty if on authorised service discover that). Those are the rules of manufactory. But in reality in our country they can not discover our procedure, because they do not have equipment that is necessary to find out that the car is being chip tuned.

5. WHY MANUFACTURER DOESN’T DO THIS?
Manufacturer must follow different standards: ecology, technical, social, economical ……….when a new engine is developed. That is why; engines are having up to 40 % reserves in horsepower and torque.
Despite this, there are different car model with same engine and different power, example: MB Vito 110 and 112 CDI, and VW Sharan TDI 90KM is the same as Golf 100KM.

6. IS VEHICLE LIFETIME SHORTER?
If you drive your car as is recommended, than lifetime is not shorter because of chip tuning. It is important, that you warm up engine on working temperature before you start driving with “full throttle”. And it is important that, you do not drive 300 km together with “full throttle” and that you cool down engine by running engine in idling speed before turning off an engine. It is also important that your car is running with quality motor oil and that is having quality service.

7. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH FUEL CONSUMPTION?
Fuel consumption is dependent by the way you drive your car. If you drive in rally style (high.- r.p.m) fuel consumption may increase, while driving in r.p.m. between 2000 and 3000 by turbo diesel engine and between 3000-5000 r.p.m. by petrol engine, fuel consumption may stay the same or even decrease.

8. IS IT POSSIBLE TO SWITCH ON MANUFACTORY SETTING, AFTER CHIP TUNING?
That is possible, but we do not recommend it, because:
ECU is partly self- learning which means that in program are specified limited values, while the optimum values are setting by ECU himself. After chip tuning in vehicles, car needs at least 300 km for optimal working. Switching between serial and tuning program is not recommended because that is causing more damage, than in non switching option.

9. WHAT ABOUT SERVICING?
Everything stays the same, as before chip tuning.
